“Warning! You have exceeded your Database limit of 10,000 mailable prospects”
This is a message many busy marketers have probably seen in Pardot. On the upside it can be a great thing – your ebooks, webinars, events and case studies have brought in 10,000 leads! The downside is that many of these leads are likely taking up valuable space and budget. Find a few groups you can send to the recycle bin below.
Prospects who aren’t interested
How many of your prospects have you been emailing over and over again with no interaction? Not even an email open. This is a prime group to eliminate from your database as they are not showing any interest. You can go about this a few ways:
Option 1: Send them straight to the recycle bin
If you’re confident that these prospects will never engage or if they’ve been sitting in your database since 2015 with no activity, you can immediately send them to your recycle bin.
Option 2: Send them a breakup letter
This is a great option if you believe there are some hidden gems in this inactive list and you want to take 1 last shot at re-engagement. Once you have your list in unengaged prospects, send a breakup email to these prospects asking them to click your CTA in order to stay subscribed. Anyone who doesn’t click after a few days can safely be deleted.
Prospects your sales team has disqualified
Have your sales reps dispositioned Disney Mouse at ABC Company as “Disqualified – Bad info”? If you have clean guidelines in place that ensure your reps are only putting contacts that have truly false data in this status, these would be a good group to delete.
Prospects who will never be qualified
These would be the students or interns who are downloading your ebooks in order to do some research for a paper. Creeping competitors would also fall in this category (although there’s a better way to deal with competitors). These prospects will not become customers and you can safely identify them through their job title, company or domain in order to delete them.
